COACHING BACKGROUND
Learn to Skate coach with Wayne-Westland since January 2021. During the 2021 Summer Workshop she coached the artistry segment. Interested in choreographing programs for competition in freestyle and showcase categories and exhibitions, including ice show, holiday, and for other occasions.
Other experiences outside of figure skating include teaching dance in ballet, modern, and jazz techniques, marching band color guard and musical theatre.
SKATING BACKGROUND
Courtney began figure skating at 3 years old at the Wayne Ice Arena and competing solo and team at 6 years old. Synchronized skating team experiences include skating with the Wayne Jazzies and Jazzers, Plymouth Gems on Ice, and Dearborn Crystallettes. Individually she has skated with the Wayne Figure Skating Club, Dearborn Figure Skating Club, and Garden City Skating Club before taking a hiatus for almost 13 years.
She returned to figure skating in January 2021. Over the following year she participated in the 2021 Wayne-Westland Ice Show and holiday exhibition, passed two freestyle tests, and competed as a freestyle and showcase soloist in the Wayne-Westland All American competition.

COACHING BACKGROUND - Started coaching both private and group figure skating lessons in 2006. Co-founder and coach of the combined Garden City & Wayne Westland High School Figure Skating Team. Co-founder and director of Mirage Ice Theatre. Director of the Garden City Ice Show since 2015. Pom/dance coach since 2006 including high school and collegiate level athletes.
TEACHING BACKGROUND - Has instructed skaters of all ages in various levels. Disciplines taught include: Moves in the Field, Freeskate, Showcase, Theater on ice, Off-ice training
SKATING BACKGROUND - Currently still testing and competing in both adult singles and synchronized skating. Passed through Pre-Silver Dance.

COACHING BACKGROUND: Began teaching Learn to Skate classes at Mike Modano in 2022, substitute instructor at Garden City, choreographed group numbers for the 2022 WWFSC annual ice show, and is interested in teaching private lessons as well.
TEACHING BACKGROUND: qualified to coach basic skating and freestyle skills, as well as put together programs. Working with a babysitting service outside of skating involvement has led to experience working with a variety of ages.
SKATING BACKGROUND: Began skating in performances at 5 and competing at 9, has competed in freestyle, showcase and interpretive events, as well as high school and college level team competitions. Currently still competing, testing, and performing with no intentions of stopping anytime soon. Co-President of the Oakland University Figure Skating Team.

Availability and Rates: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday (hours vary with rink) $12 for 25 minute lesson/$24 for 50 minute lesson

Began figure skating at the early age of 5 years old. Skated competitive individual throughout grade school, adolescent, and teenage years. Regional Juvenile Champion and Juvenile Junior National competitor. Trained with top professional coaches and attended world skating academy camps. Continued to test/compete up to Intermediate and Novice Free Skate levels, Junior Moves in the Field. Joined synchronized skating team, the Crystallettes, and competed nationally Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, as well as, internationally Junior and Senior levels until retiring in 2000. Recently, came back for the love of the sport and currently working on Senior Moves in the Field/Adult Free skating. Certified Learn to Skate USA instructor and Certified ACE Sports Performance Specialist.
